AccuRadio Song Of The Day-2 Unlimited

Artist:2 Unlimited
Song:Twilight Zone
Album:Get Ready!

The dance group 2 Unlimited are successful mostly in Europe. The 1992 single Twilight Zone was one of two US chart singles. The guys behind 2 Unlimited are producers Jean-Paul De Coster and Phil Wilde from Antwerp, Belgium. As Bizz Nizz, they scored a British top ten hit in 1989 with Don't Miss The Party Line. They created the instrumental Get Ready For This and they decided it needed a vocal. They gave the tape to rapper Ray Slijngaard who they had worked with before. When he returned the tape, it not only had Slingaard's rap but a chorus sung by Anita Doth. They decided to feature them as 2 Unlimited. They signed with the Belgian label Byte Records who licensed then to labels worldwide including Radikal Records in the US and Pete Waterman's PWL International in England. Twilight Zone was the second single and the first single to feature Anita. It reached #49 on the Billboard Hot 100 The NHL still uses an instrumental loop of Twilight Zone during games. 2 Unlimited continued to have success with songs like No Limit mostly in Europe. Slijngaard and Doth left in 1996. De Coster and Wilde hired two new singers. They released an unsuccessful album in 1998. Slijngaard and Doth reunited in 2009 and 2 Unlimited officially reformed in 2012. 2 Unlimited has performed live and released remixes of hits. But they haven't recorded new music. Doth left in 2016 and 2 Unlimited continue to tour with a new singer. Here's the video of Twilight Zone by 2 Unlimited.
