Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Greg Piccolo is best known as the sax player and vocalist for the popular Roomful Of Blues. He has occasionally recorded as a solo artist but usually works as a sideman. He was born May 10, 1951 in Wersterly, RI. He was playing sax with a band called The Rejects at age 13. A couple of years later, he got together with guitarist Duke Robillard and they started Roomful Of Blues in 1970. Robillard was replaced by Ronnie Earl in 1979 and Piccolo became band leader. The group split up in the early 90s and Piccolo went out on his own. The Freeze is a hard driving instrumental from Piccolo's 1990 album Heavy Juice. Robillard is featured on guitar. The album was on the defunct Black Top Records and the song only appears to be available on this budget various artists comp on Easydisc. Piccolo recorded a couple of CDs for Fantasy Records in the 90s. His most recent CD as a leader was in 2000. He still tours blues festivals but has been a regular in Canadian bluesman Colin James' band and most recently was part of Ray Norcia's latest band Sugar Ray & The Bluetones. Here's Greg Piccolo performing Let Me Put My Sugar Ray On You at the 2004 North River Blues Festival in Marshfield, MA Aug. 22, 2004.
