\Fans of singer songwriter Alela Diane will want to check out this one off side project recorded in 2008 with veteran session musicians. Headless Heroes was assembled by producers Eddie Bezalel and Hugo Nicolson. Bezalel has worked with Pete Rock. Nicolson is more recording engineer than producer. He has worked with Primal Scream among others. The idea was to assemble an all star cover band of Los Angeles session musicians. They did a video for this cover of the Jesus & Mary Chain song Just Like Honey. Musicians are guitarist Josh Klinghoffer of Red Hot Chili Peppers, session guitarist Woody Jackson who works with film composer David Holmes, bassist Gus Seyffert who was trained by Charlie Haden and is an in demand session musician and drummer Joey Waronker who is the son of producer Lenny Waronker and has worked with R.E.M. among others. Of course Alela Diane has a successful solo career. The strings are by sisters Amy, Gita and Rosie Langley known as Dirty Pretty Strings. British composer Leo Abrahams wrote the arrangements. The Silence of Love was released in 2008 on Names Records. It was always intended as a one off deal. Alela Diane returned to her solo career.
