Fans of the Emo style of pop music might want to check out the short lived band Benton Falls. Unfortunately they only recorded two albums. Benton Falls were from Santa Rosa, CA led by lead singer Michael Richardson along with Ryan "Gerb" Gerber on guitar, Vance Gore on bass and Eli Deering on drums. One band they are frequently compared to is Sunny Day Real Estate. They signed with Deep Elm Records which seems to specialize in this kind of music. Fighting Starlight was their 2001 debut album. Gerb left after that album and Benton Falls released a second CD Guilt Beats Hate in 2003. And then the band ended. From what I could tell, music was never a full time thing for Benton Falls. It looks like Gore and Deering returned to day jobs. It's possible that the grind of the music business wasn't to their liking. Richardson went on to be a member of The New Trust and he has done backup vocals on some projects. But as I said, Benton Falls is worth checking for fans of Emo music.
