The UFC announced today that Ham Seo Hee vs Danielle Taylor has been added to UFC Fight Night 97 Oct. 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. This show will air on UFC Fight Pass. I would say that both fighters are undersized for Strawweight. Ham is a Korean kickboxer who has fought MMA mostly in Japan. She is 1-2 in the UFC. In her most recent match in March, Ham fell behind to Bec Rawlings and she was unable to get a finish in round three. I thought she won the round but lost the fight. Danielle came in on short notice and lost to Maryna Moroz on Aug. 6. This was one of the worst fights of the year. Maryna used her height advantage to keep Danielle away and the judges gave Maryna the decision. The ref needed to force them to engage but he didn't. Danielle might have a better chance because Ham is closer to her size. Ham was a champ in DEEP JEWELS and Danielle was a champ in King of the Cage. It just shows how tough it is to bridge the talent gap from smaller companies to the UFC. I expect this to be mostly kickboxing because that's what both of them are good at.
