Yesterday Natsuki*Taiyo retired in front of a full house at Korakuen Hall. I have the video of her retirement match and ceremony. The show was called Forever High Speed because Natsuki is the High Speed Champion. I think that title is being retired. When she announced her retirement, Natsuki said she always planned to retire once she turned 30 years old. She said 10 years in pro wrestling was enough. She said after the show she plans to travel in the short term. She says she wants to go to Thailand. The video begins with a recap of Natsuki's road to retirement. The most notable matches were vs Ray who she worked with in her early days. Momoe Nakanishi, who Natsuki closely resembles, came out of retirement for one night only. And in a tag team match, Natsuki pinned her best friend Nanae Takahashi with Momoe's finisher The Momoracci. Not surprisingly, Nanae is Natsuki's opponent for her retirement. You will notice that Bull Nakano and Momoe Nakanishi are on commentary. These two women have the ability to tear down the house every night. And that's exactly what they do. The match has a slow build but there are plenty of big moves and near falls in the last half of the match. I know you will enjoy the match. I won't go into detail. Just watch and enjoy. But if you are a retiring pro wrestler, this is how you want to go out. It's probably the best match of Natsuki*Taiyo's career. This is followed by the retirement ceremony. Among the notable participants are Natsuki's nemesis Kyoko Kimura, Manami Toyota, Mariko Yoshida, Natsuki's tag team partner Yoshiko, girls from all the wrestling companies, Bull Nakano, STARDOM owner Hiroshi Ogawa, STARDOM champ Io Shirai, Momoe Nakanishi and her retired kickboxer husband Makoto Oe and their kids. And of course Natsuki's BFF Nanae Takahashi. This concludes with legendary pro wrestler and trainer Animal Hamaguchi. He trained a lot of joshi wrestlers including Natsuki*Taiyo. The problem is he does his shtick for so long, STARDOM runs out of time and we don't get to hear the ten bell salute. Oh well, you'll still enjoy the match and the ceremony. On behalf of joshi fans everywhere, congratulations to Natsuki*Taiyo for having a great retirement match and we all wish that you have a happy life. You will be missed.
