Mercedes Martinez attacks Nanae Takahashi

STARDOM held a press conference this morning at the Ceasar Gym to officially announce the matchups for the STARDOM World Championship tournament. Of course we already know what the matches will be. But Mercedes Martinez arrived in Tokyo last night and I think it was a very good idea to use her considerable talent to try and fill Korakuen Hall on Sunday. Mercedes will face Nanae Takahashi in one semi final and Mika Nagano will face Yoko Bito in the other semi final. Those two were brought out first. Obviously both are inexperienced and really didn't have much to say. I've seen Mika do interviews in JEWELS. She doesn't seem capable of anger. But we did get some fireworks when Takahashi and Martinez sat at the table separated by STARDOM owner Rossy Ogawa. Takahashi started flapping her gums about how winning this belt will be the crowning glory in her fifteen year wrestling career. She says she expects to face Nagano in the final. So she's looking past Mercedes Martinez. Mercedes says "Hey, I came all the way from America to talk and you're number one? I'm number one and you're number two or three or lower. You may have your way with these young girls but you won't have it so easy with me. I'll show you who is number one." And Mercedes proceeds to elbow smash Takahashi and then put her in a Cobra Clutch. After they were separated, Takahashi protested that she didn't do anything to deserve the attack. Well actually, she was bragging so she was asking for it. Logically, Takahashi should win the belt. But Mercedes is a fantastic wrestler and I expect a very good match from these two.
