Album:Otis! The Definitive Otis Redding
Almost 40 years after Otis Redding's tragic death in a plane crash in Madison, WI on Dec. 10, 1967 at age 36, his music is still fresh. This version of the Irving Berlin standard White Christmas is a good example. Otis wrote a lot of his own songs but he was also capable of taking any song and making it his own. Check out this video of Otis performing Satisfaction at the 1967 Stax in Europe tour. This 4CD comp Otis is essential listening for R & B fans. His version of White Christmas was on the 1968 Atco various artists comp Soul Christmas. That's worth getting too. Otis Redding was one of the all time greats of popular music and this version of White Christmas personifies his ability.
