Here's the match video of Jessica Penne vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz from last night's UFC show in Houston. This fight is at Strawweight. Both fighters are former title contenders in their late 30s. Jessica was off for two years because of a drug suspension. She won her return fight a few months ago. Karolina is on a four fight losing streak and we hadn't seen her since early 2020. Karolina makes a really stupid mistake when she jumps into Jessica's guard instead of letting her get up. Karolina is a striker with no ground game. And sure enough Jessica went hunting for submissions and finishes Karolina with a first round armbar. And that was it. Jessica won a $50,000 bonus. I don't know what Karolina does next.
