Here's the match video of Mayra Bueno Silva vs Mara Romero Borella from last night's UFC show in Las Vegas. This fight was at Flyweight. Mayra is from Sao Paulo, Brazil. She was in the Brazilian Contender Series. She is 1-1 in the UFC. She has had two knee surgeries. Her ground skills are good but she has subpar striking. Mara is from Italy. She trains at American Top Team in Florida. She is on a three fight losing streak. Mara scores a takedown. She needs to be very careful with someone as good on the ground as Mayra. Mayra sets up a triangle but her right hand is trapped. Once she gets that loose, she gets the submission with an armbar. Mara's lack of awareness was shocking. I wouldn't be surprised if she was released. Mayra looks to be on the comeback trail. BTW, that is Gilbert Burns translating her interview.
