Big Bad Blog Video Theater-Ronda Rousey vs Bethe Correia

Here's the fight video of Ronda Rousey defending her UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship against Bethe Correia from last night's UFC show in Brazil. Blink and you'll miss it. Ronda wanted to defend the title in Brazil and Bethe was the perfect victim...er...contender after her disrespect of the Four Horsewomen. And of course she really pissed Ronda off with her stupid suicide comments. Ronda kept saying that she would prolong this fight and punish Bethe. I wasn't sure how that was going to work. And I didn't think it was a good idea. It didn't happen anyway. The funniest thing was the UFC trying to sell that Bethe has punching power. I didn't see how her pitty pat punches could hurt Ronda. In most of her fights, Ronda is going for the clinch to get a takedown. But Bethe quickly realized that she couldn't hurt Ronda and Bethe went for the clinch herself. That was the beginning of the end. Ronda could have gone for a takedown. But instead she hammered Bethe first with punches followed by a knee. Then she finished her with an overhand right to the temple and Bethe was face down on the mat. Ref Big John McCarthy stopped the fight immediately and Ronda scored a KO. The time was 34 seconds. Yikes! It was the same punch that KOd Alexis Davis. The stoppage was fine. Bethe was out cold for a moment but that's enough for a stoppage. So now Ronda will face Miesha Tate probably in early December at Texas Stadium. Ronda also has a movie shoot in Thailand. I'm not sure how that fits in. Miesha earned the title shot but I don't see that lay and pray that she has been using to win fights being effective on Ronda. Remember Miesha did get on top in their last fight and Ronda hammered her from bottom position. Miesha needs to pull a rabbit out of her hat to beat Ronda. I just don't see her doing that.
