Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Leslie Smith steps in for injured Amanda Nunes to face Sarah Kaufman
When it was announced last week that Shayna Baszler was out of her Apr. 16 fight against Sarah Kaufman, Leslie Smith immediately tweeted that she wanted the fight. But with Alexis Dufresne also dropping out of her match against Amanda Nunes, the UFC decided to have Nunes replace Baszler. Yesterday Globo in Brazil reported that Nunes suffered a dislocated thumb and would have to drop out of the fight. With less than a week to go, the UFC has limited choices and I thought Leslie would take the fight on short notice. She wants redemption. Sarah won by split decision over Leslie on the Apr. 5, 2013 Invicta show. Fans booed the decision and as you can see in the picture, Leslie was shocked. The UFC tried to get Leslie last summer to replace Sara McMann when she dropped out of her fight with Sarah Kaufman. But Leslie was training in Thailand at the time preparing for an Invicta 125lb title match against Barb Honchak. When there's less than a week left before the fight, the main problem is finding a willing fighter. So opportunity has knocked on Leslie Smith's door. She has answered. Let's see if she takes advantage of that opportunity.

That ought to be a fight worth seeing. If she wants it bad enough Smith will have a shot at a victory, but it will not be easy.
