You Don't Know Her Like I Do was one of two number one country hits from Brantley Gilbert's major label debut. His new CD will be released next month. He was born Jan. 20, 1985 in Jefferson, GA which is near Athens. So he was not only influenced by country music but by rock bands like R.E.M. After playing local gigs, he moved to Nashville and got a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Publishing. His biggest hits as a songwriter were Dirt Road Anthem and My Kinda Party for Jason Aldean. Gilbert co-wrote Dirt Road Anthem with Colt Ford and then released his 2009 debut CD Modern Day Prodigal Son on Ford's label Average Joe's. His second CD Halfway To Heaven was released in 2010. But then Gilbert signed with the Big Machine owned label Valory Records. They decided to add a couple of tracks to Highway To Heaven and release it with a new cover. The original CD is no longer available. You can only get the deluxe edition. Country Must Be Country Wide and You Don't Know Her Like I Do both topped the Country Singles chart. You Don't Know Her Like I Do was one of the new tracks. Gilbert wrote You Don't Know Her Like I Do with Jim McCormick. Gilbert writes all his own songs.
