Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Julie Kedzie vs Germaine De Randamie set for UFC On Fox 8
Fox Sports announced last night that Julie Kedzie vs Germaine De Randamie has been added to UFC On Fox 8 July 27 at Key Arena in Seattle. Both fighters come to the UFC through existing Strikeforce contracts. This fight could be a contract burn fight. I don't see either of them as title contenders. Julie Kedzie is the second most experienced female fighter in the UFC. Rosi Sexton is first. Her record is 16-11 and she debuted in 2004. She trains at Jackson-Winklejohn in Albuquerque, NM and works as Greg Jackson's assistant. Her last fight was a loss to Miesha Tate on the Aug. 18 Strikeforce show. Julie was winning when she messed up and fell into an armbar. She tore her rotator cuff and had shoulder surgery. She was cleared to train last week. Germaine De Randamie had a 34-0 kickboxing record at home in The Netherlands earning the nickname The Iron Lady. She moved to the US in 2008 to learn MMA and currently trains at American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, CA. Her MMA record is 3-2 and her last fight was a win over HIROKO on the Aug. 18 Strikeforce show. If you watch Germaine's loss to Julia Budd, you can see the way to beat her is to take her down. Germaine has yet to show any kind of ground game. Of course Julie also prefers standing. Will she go away from her own strength to exploit Germaine's weakness on the ground? Remember Julia Budd is a kickboxer too. But taking Germaine to the ground paid off. I don't know if Julie will do the same thing. So this could be a standing war and that may be tough for Julie as Germaine probably has the edge as a kickboxer.
