Final fighter added to JEWELS Lightweight Tournament

Emi Murata
A few months ago, JEWELS matchmaker Shigeru Saeki announced plans for adding a US fighter to the JEWELS Lightweight Tournament set to begin on July 31 at Shinjuku FACE. Now that Saeki has announced that eighth fighter, it's obvious that he was unable to get who he was after and has now gone the Korean kickboxer route. Of course that's the cheap route. So the announcement that Han Sol Lee has been added to the tournament is underwhelming in the least. Like a lot of the Koreans who come to Japan, she's more kickboxer than MMA fighter. She trains at CMA Korea and Saeki claims that she has competed in jiu jitsu tournaments. Her MMA record is 0-1 and she lost to Miki Morifuji at the Nov. 10 DEEP vs CMA Korea show. JEWELS added another MMA match and another Shoot Boxing match. In an MMA match contract for 56kg, Emi Murata will face HARUMI. Murata trains at AACC and this will be her pro MMA debut though she has an amateur match on a previous JEWELS show. HARUMI trains at BLUE DOG GYM. Her record is 0-14 and her last loss was to Amiba at the May 23 JEWELS show. The Shoot Boxing match will have Shoot Boxing regular Ai Takahashi vs boxer Emi NFC of the Nagoya Fight Club. Saeki says he will announce the tournament brackets in a few days.
