Not to be confused with the legendary bluegrass group The Osborne Brothers, Brothers Osborne scored a top five country hit with Stay A Little Longer from their 2015 debut CD Pawn Shop. John and T.J. Osborne are from Deale, MD. T.J. is the lead singer. John is the lead guitarist. They had a couple of bands in high school. They recorded an album as Jax 'n' Jive. John and then T.J. moved to Nashville. They got a publishing deal and a couple of their songs were recorded. Of course what they really wanted was a record deal. And in 2013 they signed with EMI Nashville and producer Jay Joyce. He produces Eric Church. They released an EP in 2014 and then they recorded Pawn Shop. Stay A Little Longer was on the EP but Joyce had them re-record it for the album. It reached #4 on the Country Singles chart. The Osbornes usually write their own songs with a third writer, in this case Shane McAnally who is best known for producing Kacey Musgraves. Stay A Little Longer was nominated for a Grammy and Brothers Osborne won a CMA award for Vocal Duo of the Year. They have been nominated for a Grammy this year for 21 Summer. Brothers Osborne are just finishing their first tour as a headliner. Once that is over, they should head back to the recording studio to record new music. They are off to a good start.
