It's around this time of year I am asked about Christmas albums. So I try to feature a few that I think are worth purchasing. Of course most fans know Darius Rucker as lead singer of the 90s band Hootie and the Blowfish. In recent years, he has been very successful in country music. So it's almost obligatory for country artists to record a Christmas album. Of course Rucker grew up in church so it's not surprising he would want to record a Christmas album anyway. Home For The Holidays was released in 2014. It sold well because a couple of the sings charted. Rucker records the typical Christmas standards. What God Wants For Christmas is an original written by Rucker, producer Frank Rogers and veteran songwriter Monty Criswell. Sheryl Crow guests on Baby, It's Cold Outside. Like most Christmas albums, it's supposed to be comforting and make for perfect background music for the holidays. And it's available as a budget CD.
