Here's the match video of Charlotte vs Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch from last night's Wrestlemania. The big news from last night is the word "Diva" will no longer be used and the WWE Divas Championship has been replaced by the WWE Women's Championship. This change is long overdue and hopefully it signals a move away from the kind of tepid booking we have seen lately. I don't like three way matches so I was not looking forward to this match. It was actually pretty good except for the finish. Sasha came out with her cousin Snoop Dogg and her gear was an Eddie Guerrero tribute. She also did a frog splash during the match. The reason I don't like three way matches is they all have the same pattern. One of the three wrestlers gets tossed from the ring and it's a singles match for a while. And this pattern repeats. Fortunately there were some good spots that moved the match at a good pace. Sasha does a lot of flying around and she likes to take bumps. One of the best spots was when Becky dove onto Sasha outside the ring and Sasha pushed Ric Flair into her and Becky took Flair out. And I also liked Charlotte's moonsault from the top rope to the floor. All three wrestlers use submissions as finishers. Of course in a three way match, the third wrestler usually breaks it up. The end came when Charlotte tossed Sasha to the outside. She put her figure eight leglock on Becky. Sasha tried to get back into the ring to break it up. But Flair held her leg and Becky was forced to submit. I wanted a title change so I didn't like the finish and it was lame anyway. I just didn't like the decision to keep the belt on Charlotte and Flair's interference took away from the match. Tonight on RAW we'll get a better idea of how the renamed women's division will be booked. The name change means nothing if the booking is the same. Enjoy the video!
