Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Ayumi Kurihara retires
Today Ayumi Kurihara had her retirement show at Korakuen Hall in front of 1813 fans. So the joint was packed to the gills. Ayumi is retiring because she had shoulder surgery a few years ago and her neck and shoulder has never been right. She can't lift her arm. It's a loss for the joshi business because Ayumi is very appealing and she can really wrestle. She learned her trade at M's Style trained mostly by AKINO. The show was promoted by Pro Wrestling WAVE. Ayumi wrestled twice in the show. She kicked off the show in a match against her protege Mika IIda who tries to look like Ayumi. I think this was Mika's first match after recovering from knee surgery. In her other match, she teamed with Mika Iida and AKINO vs GAMI, Aja Kong and Tomoka Nakagawa. Of course the match was played for comedy with Ayumi hitting all her trademark spots. After the match, they all ganged up on her. Nanae Takahashi, Natsuki*Taiyo, Io Shirai and Fuuka of STARDOM made a surprise appearance and joined in the beating. Then the retirement ceremony. The funniest thing was Sakura Hirota appearing dressed as Akira Hokuto. But then Hokuto herself appeared on video. AKINO gave her a white M's Style belt. A lot of the wrestlers were there and of course Ayumi's parents were there. Then the ten bell salute and that was it. Ayumi told Daily Sports that she plans to go to school to become a nursery school teacher. But everyone knows her family owns a successful restaurant. Don't be surprised if she ends up there. Good luck to Ayumi Kurihara in retirement. You will be missed.
