Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Megumi Fujii is a submission magician
So here's the match video of Megumi Fujii vs Karla Benitez from the DREAM New Year's Eve show at Saitama Super Arena. You'll notice that Megumi wound up on the bottom after a takedown attempt. Before we have a chance to ask what Megumi will do on the bottom, she reverses it so quickly that I don't think you can even see how she did it in slow motion. It's pure magic. Once Megumi is on top, it's a foregone conclusion that she will grab an arm or a foot and end the fight very quickly. And that's exactly what she does. I don't think Karla knows what happened yet. It's all over by armbar in 75 seconds. It's good to see Megumi back in the ring as her right knee has been giving her trouble. Fans always ask me when Megumi will retire. She has said she will retire within a couple of years. I expect Megumi and Hitomi Akano to retire together because they have been best friends for twenty years. I also am asked if Megumi should be in the MMA Hall Of Fame. I think Megumi should be in the Martial Arts Hall Of Fame. What she has done for martial arts in Japan goes way beyond pro MMA. Her career as an amateur is what made her a celebrity in Japan. And her pioneering work creating martial arts programs for women and children has had a profound effect on the whole country. Her kids program at AACC is still the best in Japan and everyone tries to copy it. In fact, AACC just celebrated their tenth anniversary last week. So enjoy another edition of Megumi Fujii's submission magic.
