Song:Broken Bones
Album:Into The Night
If you listen to Love Inc.'s brand of Eurodance, you will think they are from Europe. But they are actually from Toronto. They were very successful in Canada with hits like Broken Bones and You're A Superstar but they had little success elsewhere. This happens to many Canadian acts because of CRTC Canadian Content regulations for radio stations. The airplay in Canada doesn't always convert into airplay elsewhere. Love Inc. was led by veteran DJ Chris Sheppard. He hosted dance music shows on CFNY and Energy 108 and he also released many dance music compilation CDs. In clubs he was known as Dogwhistle. In the early 90s, he had a group called BKS. They are best known for the Don Cherry mashup Rock Em Sock Em Techno. The singer in that group was Simone Denny. They got together with Brad Daymond to form Love Inc. in 1997. They signed with RCA Canada and Broken Bones was the first single. It topped the Canadian Dance chart and won Best Video at the 1998 MuchMusic Video Awards. The album Love Inc. was certified Platinum in Canada. The second single You're A Superstar also topped the Canadian Dance chart and it also charted in the US and England. Love Inc. toured Canada featuring dancer Monique "Nikki K" Kurnath. She was a regular part of the touring band. Daymond left in 1999 to go into production as Riprock. Love Inc. continued as a duo and Into The Night was released in 2000. All their hits are on this budget CD. Love Inc. then split up. Sheppard lives in retirement in the suburbs. Simone sang with the group Widelife and has released the occasional single. She currently tours Canada as Love Inc. featuring Simone Denny. Here's the video for Broken Bones by Love Inc.
